MCCS has reserved the Latimer Reservation near Spencer, Tennessee on the beautiful Cumberland Plateau. It is within a day’s drive for many Boy Scout, American Heritage Girls, Trail Life USA, and Girl Scout leaders who live in the central and southern United States, but the MCCS workshop is open to everyone!
During the three day weekend workshop, participants will learn more about MCCS and its mission. Activities will involve brainstorming and planning for the future of MCCS while determining how it can more effectively grow its relationship with these youth organizations. The long weekend will also include time for fellowship and fun activities such as hiking, fishing, canoeing, mountain biking, relaxing and stargazing!
The scheduled itinerary includes:
- Overview of all the youth organizations MCCS serves
- Leading youth and adults to Christ through this ministry
- Utilizing MCCS’ Servant Leadership Curricula individually and with groups
- Building rapport with congregational leadership
- Partnering in ministry
- Chaplaincy opportunities and training
- Scholarship programs
- Brainstorming and sharing

Latimer Reservation offers time in God’s Creation with a scenic cliff top atmosphere and beautiful views of the Cumberland Plateau. These new outstanding facilities will allow for a productive workshop and comfortable housing for participants and spouses.
Check-in will begin the afternoon of Thursday, October 27th and continue thru early Friday morning. The workshop will conclude after we worship together in the chapel on Sunday morning, October 30th.
Cost is $125 per person for food, lodging, and supplies. Now that’s a bargain!
